Phoenix is a village in Oswego County, New York. It lies within the town of Schroeppel, along the Oswego River in Central New York. Phoenix is approximately twenty miles north of Syracuse and about the same distance southwest of the City of Oswego., the village population was approximately 2,200. Phoenix was incorporated in 1848 and grew as a milling and manufacturing hub on the Oswego River. Today it is a small residential community served by the Phoenix Central School District.
