Point values in the table below follow the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles regulations (15 NYCRR § 131.3; see also the NYS Register adopting amendments effective Feb. 16, 2026). For violations committed on or after February 16, 2026, the schedule includes changes to several offenses (e.g., VTL § 511, 511-a, 1146, 1174, 1180(f), 1182, 1192, 385(2)/(14), and leaving the scene with injury). For violations before that date, the prior point values may still apply—points are assessed as of the date of violation per the NY DMV.
